What is a pantoum?

A pantoum is a form of poem just like a limerick or a ballad or a sonnet.

The form of a pantoum is interesting because it uses repetition.

It is written in stanzas (a collection of lines put together) of four lines each. you can have as many stanzas as you want - but here is the interesting part:
the second and fourth lines of each stanza (or a close variation of it) become the first and third line of the next stanza. and this repeats until the last stanza.

You don't have lot of writing to do on the last stanza because not only are the first and third line from the stanza before, but the second line is forth lines are the first and third lines from the very first stanza.

Take a look at my pantoum again and see if you can see the repetition.
